We make sure your questions are answered!
What grit # of sand paper do we use? (220)-----
What type of wood are we using? (We primarily use Western Red Cedar pedestal bases and Western Larch or White Fir log tops.)------Will my vanity ever crack or check? (Our wood is naturally dried and crafted only when the moisture content is 15% or lower. Wood cells will contract or expand until they reach equilibrium with their surroundings. Some cracks may appear over time, especially in very dry or arid climates, don't worry, they will not affect the structural integrity of your vanity and will only enhance the natural character and beauty of the wood.)
From where do we harvest our wood? (Our wood is harvested in the state of Idaho. We only use wood from sustainable harvest operations and have a passion for salvaging fire-killed timber and reclaiming material that might otherwise go to the slash pile or tub grinder. Most of our logs are harvested from the burned forest remnants of the 1910 wild fire.)-----
How does the plumbing attach to the wall and vanity hardware? (Essentially, our vanities attach to plumbing just as any other bathroom vanity would. We will gladly work with your plumber to explain the very standard set-up for our vanities.)-----
When can my vanity be completed? (We generally encourage people to at least put a deposit down on the vanity they like as soon as possible. These on of a kind pieces go quickly and we can never guarantee they'll be in stock when your contractor is ready for them. For custom vanities, we ask that you allow for an 8-10 week lead time, however, in extenuating circumstances, rush orders are accommodated.)------
How much does shipping cost? (Shipping is, as you might imagine, a big factor to consider when buying a large, heavy piece of wood. Please rest assured, we do our utmost to provide you with accurate shipping costs that you can depend on upfront as well as the most discounted rate on price per cubic square foot available on the market today.)-----
How is the wood cut? (all of our vanities are carved and prepared with a chain saw to start and then hand shaped and sanded for a soft and smooth surface, followed by hand-rubbed stain and 4+ coats of protective, water-proof, polyurethane.) ------
How can I be sure my vanity will fit properly? (We've not had a problem with space and sizing yet! Throughout the process of designing and crafting your vanity, we make sure to involve you and your specific needs the entire time!)-----
Is my vanity water resistant? (Yes, all of our vanities are water and stain proof. We apply four (plus) coats of polyurethane to ensure just that. For optimum life and beauty, we strongly suggest applying a few fresh coat of poly every 5 years.)-----
Warranty? (While we do not offer a specific warranty, we do unconditionally guarantee the quality of construction and craftsmanship of your Cedar Mountain vanity and are confident that you will enjoy the beauty and functionality for many years to come. Unlike typical log furniture, this vanity is a custom fixture that will add significant appeal and resale value to your home or lodge.)-----
Will the stain color I choose match the rest of my bathroom? (We typically ask our clients to pick a stain color at their local hardware store (i.e. Lowes) and then let us know what it is. We then purchase that exact stain color specifically for your vanity and use it exclusively on that one piece. We never risk altering your stain color by sharing paint cans with other vanities. Your choices are as endless as the color samples available!)------
How do you price your vanities? (A number of factors are considered, an obvious one being size and breadth of the logs used. We also sometimes note the degree of character or uniqueness that a particular piece has about it. Overall, our prices are determined by the style of vanity chosen from our Signature Collection and other factors are considered when needed.)------
What are the starting prices for each style of vanity?------- (Fortunately, our prices fluctuate with discounts and special bonuses that we implement each month! Find a % off coupon online and we'll apply that as well! Simply give us a call and we'll send you pictures of our latest pre-built pieces, with their exact pricing.)
